We took the 13 bus from Waikiki, which drops you off about a block away. Wait time on a Saturday at around 10:30 am, was about 20 minutes. As we waited, we were definitely entertained by the host who loudly yelled out your name when your table was ready. It's a pretty casual spot with outdoor seating available. We were happy to be seated outside, although it was a bit hotter than being in air conditioning. Service is friendly and efficient. Our water was already on the table when we were seated and we ordered as soon as the waiter arrived. With all the rave reviews, I tried the Kahlua Pork Benedict with a side of hash browns. For me, this dish was a 3.5 star rating at best. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but everything, except for the hash browns, was very underseasoned. The hash browns were delicious and a life saver for this dish. We also ordered the eggs with portuguese sausage and hash browns. A solid dish with delicious portuguese sausage that we were craving on this trip. Overall, it was great to try, but I would not return.

The food was amazing! The banana/cream cheese filled French toast, the mess was ridiculous and the breakfast burrito was yummy! Great job experience and great ambiance.

What I appreciate about Sweet E's Cafe: - Shredded hash browns available as a side! Too few brunch spots have them on the menu, but they are the best - Option to substitute potatoes for fried rice which is often a great option (but shredded hash browns are better) - Great service: Our server was friendly, checked on us frequently and gave us to-go cups for our coffee - No wait at around 9am on a weekday The omelets were okay. The egg part of the omelet seemed to have been prepared in advance and the omelet was stuffed with the ingredients after the fact, so the ingredients didn't really meld together. The parking lot is tiny, but there is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood.
